Positioned under a strategy of high starting points and ambitious plans, the Mathematics and Information Security Research Center of Dongguan Great Bay Institute for Advanced Study attracts globally capable researchers who can solve complex problems and innovate in practice. The Center continuously strengthens its first-class academic team to serve the GBA’s drive for high-quality development and robust talent cultivation.
Introduction
The Center primarily focuses on the interdisciplinary applications of modern number theories and new-generation digital technologies. In the fields of quantum-resistant cryptography, privacy computing and algebraic & geometric coding, we strive for a number of theoretical breakthroughs in such “bottlenecks” as lattice-based problems, fully homomorphic encryption technology, and max-algebraic curves, and master a suite of original and leading-edge privacy protection mathematical technologies. We would like to contribute to the talent development at the Great Bay Institute for Advanced Study (or GBU) and also the construction of the digital economy in the GBA, thus supporting the national security framework. The Center comprises four groups: Number Theory, Cryptography, Coding, and Privacy Protection Technologies. Key research areas include lattice theory over function fields, fully homomorphic encryption, quantum-resistant cryptography and LWE distributions, privacy computing and federated learning, high-genus algebraic curves, and 6G communication technology. We have a staff of about 30, composed of distinguished researchers and graduate students.
Vision
1. We closely integrate scientific research with education to foster a vibrant research ecology and nurture a strong scientific ethos.
2. As a hub for talents and teams, we enhance integrated management of talents and platforms, and encourage more structured research participation among graduate students to serve national strategic needs and achieve sci-tech independence and strength.
3. We carry out high-level scientific research and establish academically influential research platforms.
4. We cultivate and attract high-level talents to form a well-structured academic team.
5. We solidify the foundation of discipline construction and develop emerging academic fields.
6. We serve regional economic development and engage in deep collaboration between industry, university and research.
Tasks and Goals
1. Attract a number of outstanding talents who meet the academic standards for faculty positions in the fields of mathematics, privacy protection, and information security.
2. Produce a series of academic results that positively influence the Great Bay Institute for Advanced Study (GBU).
3 Actively cooperate with enterprises, and achieve results in platform construction, project application, and achievement transformation.
